“All we have to decide is what to do with the time that is given to us.”

I wrote my first short story in elementary school. Fan-fiction in its most unabashed form, though I didn’t know there was a name for it at the time.

It wasn’t good.

But that didn’t matter. I had an incredible time taking the characters I’d known and loved from all across the Final Fantasyseries and putting them together in unique and otherwise impossible crossovers. Though I didn’t write much of consequence until my high school creative writing class years later, my love of the craft only grew as I devoured any book I could get my hands on.

It’s been a long road since then, with a few novels, short films, plenty of short stories, and years of various copywriting projects along the way, with each providing their own unique opportunity to learn something new. Something to bring along to whatever was waiting at the next stop.

Stories are everywhere. They just need an experienced hand to help nudge them to the surface.
